As a dad, I know very well how easy it is to gain weight. For some reason, I was the one who did all the cravings when my wife was pregnant and so I ended up gaining a lot of weight. But I'm not the one who gave birth to a 13-lb baby so I did not shed any of the weight I gained during my wife's pregnancy. So after the birth, I bought a jogging stroller for the purposes of (1) running, (2) putting the baby to sleep and (3) losing weight.  It has helped quite a bit or at least I have been able to continue my runs. On the weekends, my 1 yr old usually takes at least an hour nap in the morning and in the afternoon.  So then we head out the door and he's usually excited to just get out. Just before I hit that first mile (usually within the first 15minutes), he is out.  It's really multipurpose: I get to run, son gets to sleep, and wife gets to get some quiet time.  Time management is really important when you're a dad. The next thing I need to get is one of those new Weehoo bike trailer so that I can take my little guy on the bike trail when he gets a bit older. The biking season is winding down here in the mid-Atlantic so I might have to wait next spring/summer to get it.
